Mmm... Earrings!

Sorry it's been so long! Lots of things have changed since August (naturally) but I've been very busy! At my school, we have 4 classes and first semester I took Algebra III and Chemistry. It was terrible! And very painful. So art had to be put off for a couple of months :( Somehow I managed to make decent grades though! But now I am taking an oil/acrylic class and AP English, which are much more enjoyable. Besides school, I have been very busy creating lots of earrings! I make them out of random materials like soda cans, plastic orange juice cartons, aluminum foil boxes, necklaces, and just about anything I can get my hands on. I love recycling! I'm also entering a Recycle/Redesign contest for FCCLA and will be submitting a dress and complimenting accessories to accompany it. And I'm setting up a display of my work in the hallway at school! I'm not quite sure what to put in it yet, but we'll see :) Oh, I also have red hair now!

The left picture is the bottom of a soda can and the right picture is a french candy lid and beaded necklaces attached to a mini hair bow. I also made the dress out of tank tops :)

Today was the last day of summer. So sad! And tomorrow is my last first day of school. Not quite as sad but I'm sure it will catch up with me....but prob not :) My sister and her bf were sailing today and invited me to join! I love swimming so I was quite estatic. Or however you spell it. My sister has all the photos of that adventure but maybe I will get them from her to put them up. After sailing the high lake, me and my friend went the the movie theater (where I used to work) and saw "The Switch" with Jennifer Anniston. It was a great film I would say. Perfect for the after-sailing exhaustidness.
The above picture (of me) is what I wore to church this morning and a pair of earrings which I just recently made (about 2 days ago)
Now I just have to figure out what to wear to school tomorrow.....

A vintage sweater. I love the colors! And it feels so soft, but not too warm.

My sister invited us over for a yummy dinnertime feast. Delish!

I made 5 pairs of earrings today. This particular one is half French candy container, paper holder clip, and circular mirror. The other side is a mini hair bow and a set of 3 beaded brown necklaces. Not very practical but I love really long, eccentric earrings. Maybe I can sell on Etsy.....? : ) My skirt is an American Eagle sweater I found in my closet; I tied the Sleeves around my front. The spaghetti strap is a brown Banana Republic and my belt is from Tiger Lily as a gift from my lovely sister :)

Since I'm not traveling anymore AKA in New York I'm going to start making this more of a fashion blog. Voila! I like changing old clothes and accesories to make them into something new and amazing...This 100% polyester evening dress used to be a robe until I tried it on backwards and tied the 3/4 sleeves in the back.

Back in Oklahoma

I have now been in Stillwater since August 1. I reallly miss New York. But my family doesn't like to hear that. The exhibition on the last day went great, I met Latasha and Lauren at Pratt. Everyone lovvvved my dress I made! It was my final project, we had to make something out of a t-shirt. AND now that I'm home I will put photos up :) Once I got home, the next Friday, we had a welcome home party for moi, and I hung up my artwork on the stairwell (after Lauren did a fabulous job painting the walls) And my parents, grandma, Lauren, Nature, and I just got back from a fabulous short trip to Branson, Missouri, where we swam everywhere we could, ate doughnuts, guacamole, and fudge, and drove down the strip numerous times at midnight during the car show in my Ford Escort with the windows rolled down and the music turned up. It was a lovely vacation :) and school starts Monday. Sigh. I may take an NOC class but we'll see. I've signed up for it but it used to be free and now it's nearly $600 which is ridiculous. Depressing news: even if I work on my portfolio nonstop, get a decent grade on the SAT, apply to various art schools, and possibly get accepted I'm still going to have to go to OSU, particularly because it's practically free. So question: Should I still try and apply and spend all that extra effort and go out of my way to try to be accepted into a school that is 98% likely I won't be able to go to anyways? GOOD news: I got my nose pierced

pixie!

Today... I got a pixie cut!!! I lovvvve it. I would show you... but I cant figure out again how to put up pictures, plus I left my cord in the dorm. BUT it's super cute. Nose piercing on Wednesday? Hopefully. Tonight all we have is a broadway- Rock of Ages! Excited. And it's at 6 so we have time to do homework, plus I stayed up til 3 last night to sketch out my fashion illustrations so I have less to do. Maybe I'll sleep tonight! But just in case I bought energy drinks, mainly because I need to use my food card up before this program is over because we don't get the money back. So I will be eating pleanty this week :)
Yesterday we took a tour of Madison Square Gardens. Which was cool. We got a picture with one of the sports teams dancers and we toured their locker room and took a picture with a size 17 shoe of some famous sports guy. And there was a door that was 7 1/2 feet tall I believe because one of the ball players is 7ft 1". Tall. Then we came back and bought junk food at the C-Store because that was the only place open where we can use our card and they only have junk food. So I felt kinda sick after eating. Saturday night we had a MANDATORY dance/ice cream social. No one was allowed to leave until a certain time. I was going to rebel and wear jeans and casual clothes just becaue everyone was talking about dressing up (even though no one wanted to go) but I talked to Matthew and Kate (the most awesome chaperones/homework space...people) and they convinced me to dress up. SO I went all out and had fun :) and me, Rowan, Kevin, Hannah, and some other people walked to Thai 101 after we were able to leave the dance and had a lovely dinner to celebrate the last Saturday night. Then we went back and I workd on homework til 3. And now my hair is short!

At the moment im walking to Steuben hall to go to Madison square gardens for a mandatory event. Last night me and gaby signed out of our mandatory event and we walked around central park and Madison avenue and had dinner. And found our way back to school via subway using hopstop.com and amazzing website that tells you exactly the way to get back. We met lots of people on the subway and walking that were actually not creepy guys catcalling and staring intensely after we walk by. Most people in New York are super friendly and will just randomly start talking to you and giving you advice. Me ad Ariel went to a Drama Bookstore and a lady started talking to me about my breakouts. And the man we met last night wants to see a tornado before he dies.
